HMD Global officially launched its first 5G smartphone live streaming in London, on March 19, 2020.
Juho Sarvikas, HMD Global Chief Product Officer explains, the Nokia 8.3 became the first smartphone to use the Qualcomm 5G RF Front End Module solution.
The Nokia 8.3 5G puts more than 40 different RF components in a single module, making it not just a world-class device but also a smartphone ready for advanced 5G.
“The Nokia 8.3 5G comes as a more affordable alternative to the flagship and focuses on the support of 5G connection networking,” said Juho, in a live broadcast, (19/03/20).
Juho also mentions the Nokia 8.3 5G also comes with 5G New Radio bands ranging from 600hmz to 3.8 GHz.
“This means that the device can be used globally and ready for the future,” said Juho Sarvikas.
Comes with 5G technology, Nokia 8.3 supported cameras with a quad camera PureView feature as well as the use of ZEISS optics. The camera consists of 64 MP main sensor, 12 MP sensor with ultra-wide, 2 MP depth sensor, and 2 MP for macro lens. The four cameras are installed in round shaped frames that look unique and different.
Its main camera is capable of recording video up to 4K resolution as well as in a log format that is equivalent to RAW format on photos. This Format offers many options for better editing of video quality.
The front camera uses the punch hole design in the upper left corner of the screen. Its resolution is 24 MP with a Zeiss oprics lens capable of recording video up to full HD (1080p) resolution.
The Nokia 8.3 5G has a 6.81-inch display with PureDisplay technology and Full HD+ or 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio. This makes the size longer than the standard size.
The Chipset (SoC) used is the Snapdragon 765G with a choice of 6GB and 8GB RAM as well as 64GB and 128GB storage options.
The other features include a USB type-C connector, a Power button that also acts as a fingerprint scanner, and comes in one color i.e. blue or called Polar Night, which takes inspiration directly from the Arctic sky.
While the operating system used is Android 10 Pie with Android One interface. With that support, the Nokia 8.3 5G will get the update to Android 11 first. For durability, the Nokia 8.3 is powered by a battery that is used to have a 4500mAh capacity.
For the price, the Nokia 8.3 5G is priced at EUR599.
